The island of Rhodes in Greece has an area of approximately 1,400 km2, with 79.7 kilometers long by 38 kilometers wide and 220 kilometers of coastline.
Outside Rhodes Town, as we see on the map, the island is dotted with small villages and resorts, including Faliraki, Lindos, Afántou, Kremasti, Haraki, Pefkos, Archangelos, Afantou, Koskinou, Kiotari, Lalyssos, Embonas, Paradisi and Trianta .
Rhodes coasts are rocky, the interior is arable land where citrus fruits, vines, vegetables and olives are grown; breeding is mainly sheep and goats3.
The city of Rhodes is located at the northern end of the island, location of ancient and modern commercial ports. The main airport is located 14 kilometers southwest of the city.
